NCD Financing Meeting in Copenhagen

April 9, 2018: the WHO Global Dialogue on Partnerships for Sustainable Financing of Noncommunicable Disease Prevention and Control was held in Copenhagen from 9-11 April. Dr. Sania Nishtar spoke at the closing plenary about the need for a three pronged approach to NCDs—domestic integration of NCDs into exiting systems, need for long term  domestic foresight and catalytic role of the international system.Her speech can be viewed here.

Chief Guest at the Launch of a study on the volume of illicit Cigarette Brands in Pakistan

April 4, 2018: The Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) and the Human Development Foundation (HDF) launched the “Study to Assess the Volume of Illicit Cigarette Brands in Pakistan” The study was carried out under the technical guidance of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) Knowledge Hub, Economics of Tobacco Control Project and assessed the volume of sale of illicit cigarette brands in ten cities and their adjoining rural areas across Pakistan.
