First National Conference on Social Franchising 2014

August 21, 2014 by Heartfile 1 Comment

Marie-Stopes-SocietyMarie Stopes Society is hosting the First National Conference on Social Franchising 2014 at the Pearl Continental Hotel (Bhurban, Murree) on August 27, 2014.

Marie Stopes Society, a registered non-profit social enterprise in Pakistan, is one of the leading players in effective implementation of Social Franchising (SF) to expand access to Reproductive Health. With our Suraj Social Franchise network of over 400 clinics across Pakistan, we endeavor to reach out to women in the underserved areas with the highest unmet need.  Moreover, SF has had a positive impact on providers, transforming their ability to serve the community by improving the range and quality of their services.

This conference is the first of its kind in Pakistan and also the first to be organised by Marie Stopes Society. It will bring together various stakeholders to a common forum for exchanging knowledge, sharing experiences and identifying new avenues in social franchising in Pakistan.

The Conference will cover three core areas in the plenary sessions:

  • A stakeholders perspective on social franchising moderated by Dr. Sania Nishtar: panel will consist of Donors, Government representatives and implementing partners discussing potential of social franchising, trends, and future opportunities
  • Emerging models in social franchising moderated by Imran Zafar: discussion will focus on building blocks of a successful franchise
  • Evidence to action session, moderated by Prof Nizamuddin: aims to capture lessons from international best practices to maximize impact
