August 5, 2021 – Brussels: Dr. Sania Nishtar joined a select group of senior women leaders at the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Dialogue for South Asia. The theme of the dialogue was, “Policy Innovations and Solutions in support of Healthy Women and Healthy Economies”. The WPL dialogue discussed the important links between women’s contributions to health, economic growth, and gender equity. The dialogue brought together political and health experts from South Asia to discuss innovations and solutions that are helping to drive transformative policy changes and advance gender equity, both in local health systems and across the broader society. Together with Dr. Sania, other panellists were Felicia Knaul, Director Institute for Advanced Study of the Americas, Professor Miller School of Medicine, First Lady University of Miami, United States of America; Nurhayati Ali Assegaf, Member of Parliament, House of Representatives Indonesia; President Geneva Council for International Affairs & Development, Member WPL Board; Shandana Gulzar Khan, Chairperson & Member of National Assembly, Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Pakistan; and other outstanding personalities from South Asia with renowned international expertise.
