H1N1 OUTBREAK IN PAKISTAN—LESSONS LEARNT

January 14, 2011: Compared to many other countries in Asia, the outbreak of Pandemic Influenza H1N1 2009 appeared to be of minor concern to Pakistan. Sania Nishtar analyzes the extent to which that notion was justified, the health system’s response to the outbreak and the capacity of the country to comply with WHO’s International Health Regulations 2005. The paper has been published by the RSIS Centre for Non-Traditional Security (NTS) Studies in Singapore, which coordinates the Consortium of Non-Traditional Security Studies in Asia (NTS-Asia).
