Cardiovascular diseases can be prevented to a large extent by adopting the four lifestyle cornerstones of heart health. These include a tobacco free lifestyle, a heart healthy diet, regular physical activity and a stress free environment. These lifestyle modifications help avert the four metabolic complications that further add to cardiovascular risk; these include, high blood cholesterol levels, obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Heartfile has developed a set of 7 public information leaflets with the titles of “All about High Blood Pressure”; “Smoking and Your Heart”; “Food and Your Heart”; “Prevent a Heart Attack”; “Symptoms of Heart Disease”, “Cholesterol and Your Heart” and "Physical Activity and Your Heart". The pamphlets have also been used by a hospital in Manchester in UK for its Urdu speaking population.
