Dec 4, 2020 – Islamabad: The President of Pakistan Dr. Aif Alvi convened two back-to-back meetings; one on financial inclusion for the differently abled and the other centered on financial inclusion for women. SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Reza Baqir joined for the briefing since State Bank and Ehsaas have an important role in both areas. Other stakeholders including Chairman Pakistan Banks Association (PBA)/President Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Muhammad Aurangzeb and the CEOs/Presidents of 27 leading banks of the country also participated via video-link. Addressing the meeting, President Dr. Alvi emphasized that it was essential to bring differently-abled and women into the mainstream and empower them socio-economically.
