Oct 11, 2021 – Islamabad: Dr. Sania Nishtar celebrated “International Day of the Girl Child” with young girls enrolled in Ehsaas Education Stipends. She also interacted with their mothers and took feedback on the education CCT programme. On the occasion, Dr. Sania also released an official statement. “I congratulate all women and girls in Pakistan and those around the world on, “International Day of the Girl Child” that is being commemorated under the theme, “Digital generation”. Development is simply not possible without women. This principle sits at the core of Ehsaas. We, therefore, have Ehsaas 50%+ benefits for women and girls’ policy. Any policy and programme under this framework must accrue at least half of the benefits to women; as a result, more than three quarters of Ehsaas’ entire program’s benefits are dedicated to women and girls. According to Ehsaas’ weighted-in-favour-of-girls stipends policy for all conditional cash transfer programmes, girls also get a higher stipend across all age groups”, said Dr. Sania.
