Aug 31, 2020 – Geneva: For the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Executive Committee to brief the SUN Lead Group on the process to develop the draft 3.0 strategy and the key shifts proposed in the draft strategy, a consultative meeting was convened virtually by SUN Secretariat. SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar joined the meeting in capacity of Lead Group Member together with Gerda Verburg, Coordinator of the SUN Movement and Assistant Secretary-General. The consultation was moderated by Henrietta H. Fore, Executive Director UNICEF and Chair SUN Lead Group. Addressing the meeting, Dr. Nishtar said, “We need to sharpen the way, we communicate what SUN does, especially at the government level. This can be rallied as a starting point for funding and other actions.” The SUN 2.0 strategy (2015-2020) ends this year. A Movement-wide consultation is taking place between 4 August and 4 September 2020, collecting feedback to shape SUN’s future direction together.
