Dec 7, 2020: SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar was invited to join the annual meeting of the SUN Lead Group (SLG) 2020 in her capacity as a lead group member. The participants met virtually to decide on the continuation of the SUN Movement into its next phase. The SLG is appointed by the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres. Its 28 members guide the SUN Movement in its mission toward a world free from malnutrition, in all its forms, by 2030. Along with Dr. Sania Nishtar, other SLG members include; Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina President of the African Development Bank from Nigeria, David Beasley Executive Director of the World Food Programme, Annette Dixon Vice President World Bank Group Human Resources from New Zealand, Chris Elias President Global Development of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Shenggen Fan Chair Professor of China Agricultural University from China, Henrietta H. Fore Executive Director of UNICEF and Chair of the SUN Movement Lead Group, Sophie Healy-Thow Youth Leader from Ireland, Shinichi Kitaoka President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency and several others.
