Sep 3, 2020 – Islamabad: SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar visited the newly upgraded Panagah (shelter home) at Tarlai to review arrangements. Leveraging IT infrastructure, the catering and living standards at the Panagah have significantly been improved to serve the daily wage earners with utmost dignity and safety. The upgradation work is just nearing the completion under the supervision of one of the key executing agencies of Ehsaas, Pakistan Bait ul Mal (PBM). Following the approval of Ehsaas Panagah Strategy by the Prime Minister in August 2020, this is the first Panagah in the federal capital that that has been revamped with the improvement and expansion in scope of services particularly boarding & lodging, and dining. Other Panagahs in Islamabad will be revamped soon on the same standards. During the visit, MD PBM Aon Abbas Buppi briefed SAPM Dr. Nishtar on the progress of renovation and restructuring in progress at the facility. At the Panagah, Dr. Nishtar sat with labourers being served and took dinner with them. She also interacted with labourers to get their feedback on the service delivery. The SAPM was accompanied by Secretary Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division (PASSD), Additional Secretary PASSD and Focal Person on Panagahs at the occasion.
