May 20, 2025. Dr Nishtar co-hosted a WHA78 event with Côte d’Ivoire celebrating that Gavi implementing
countries contributed a record over US$ 250 million towards their own immunisation programmes in
2024. Seventeen African health ministers joined to mark this milestone, with Dr Nishtar commending the
strong commitment to vaccine sovereignty and sustainable immunisation financing.
